Wexler Wallace Volunteers at the Albany Park Community Center

by | 12.11.2012 | The Firm

This past Wednesday, Wexler Wallace shut its office for the morning to participate in its annual volunteer day. Staff at the Albany Park Community Center (“APCC”) welcomed the group with open arms and put it to work at one of the organization’s head start programs.

The APCC is a not-for-profit, community-based organization located on the north side of Chicago. The organization runs adult education programs, children and youth development programs as well as community development programs in and around the culturally diverse neighborhood of Albany Park.

Wexler Wallace assisted the teachers and staff of one of the APCC’s head start programs in the Uptown neighborhood. The student population at the school boasts a wide variety of ethnicities with more than a dozen languages spoken in the classrooms. Firm staff and attorneys assisted in three classrooms, set up a parent resource room and ran a field day for the kids.

This was the firm’s first year volunteering with this organization, and it was a great first experience. Please check out APCC’s websiteto see how you can help.
