Broiler Chicken Antitrust Litigation

Court: United States District Court, Northern District of Illinois
In re: Broiler Chicken Antitrust Litigation, Case No.: 16-cv-08637

The Commercial and Institutional Indirect Purchaser Plaintiffs (CIIPPs) vigorously litigated this action for years through summary judgment motions and preparing for trial against several defendants.  On Wednesday, July 30, 2025, U.S. District Court Judge Thomas Durkin of the Northern District of Illinois granted final approval of over $41 million in settlements between commercial and institutional indirect purchasers (CIIPs) and several major chicken producers, concluding the litigation and bringing the total recovery for the CIIPs to more than $145 million in a significant win for the businesses allegedly harmed by years of illegal price-fixing.
