Wexler Wallace works on Xarelto Bellwethers in St. Louis Litigation

1.1.1970

Wexler Wallace is currently working up five cases selected as bellwether cases in the Xarelto litigation which is currently in St. Louis. A larger group of Xarelto cases are consolidated in this litigation in St. Louis, and seven of these cases have been selected to go through the discovery process and be worked up for trial at this time. Five of these seven cases are Wexler Wallace cases and Wexler Wallace is at the forefront of this litigation. As part of this process, associate Tim Jackson is taking depositions of Plaintiffs, doctors, and other witnesses in these cases.

These cases arise from damages Plaintiffs have suffered from taking Xarelto, an anti-coagulant used for a variety of blood-thinning medical purposes. The Plaintiffs have filed suits against Defendants alleging that they or their family members suffered severe bleeding due to Xarelto’s defective design and inadequate warning label, among other things.

The cases are consolidated under the heading Turley et al. v. Janssen Research & Development, LLC, et al. in the Twenty-Second Judicial Circuit Court in the City of St. Louis (Case No. 1522-CC10520-01).  Judge Michael K. Mullen is the Presiding Judge and the first case will be scheduled for trial in early 2018.
